Mr Rajendra Prasad at age of 45, experienced a significant life change when doctors diagnosed him with chronic kidney disease (CKD) in 2019. He worked hard to manage his condition, but his kidney function did not improve. By 2024, he reached CKD stage 5, which meant he needed to start dialysis twice a week from August 2024. While dialysis helped maintain his health, the only viable long-term solution was a kidney transplant.
In a difficult time, Mrs. Neha Bharti, 46, made a life-changing choice—she donated one of her kidneys to help her husband. Fortunately, their blood types matched (B+ to B+), and after thorough medical tests, she was found healthy enough to donate.
With the expert medical attention of Dr. Arun Kumar, Director & HOD, Department of Nephrology and Kidney Transplant Medicine at Tender Palm, the kidney transplant surgery was successfully carried out on November 28, 2024. Mr. Prasad was recovering well post-surgery and was discharged after a week on December 4, 2024.
He is getting stronger and living a healthier life without dialysis. This is thanks to his wife's generosity, good medical care, and advanced treatment. His story shows how love, experienced healthcare, and modern medicine can make a real difference.
