Anirudh Kumar, a 9-year-old boy, came to us feeling very weak all over his body. His weakness started in his legs and quickly spread, causing him difficulty breathing. After trying several places for help without success, his father, Ashwin Kumar, went to Lucknow, where he heard about Tender Palm Hospital. When Anirudh reached Tender Palm, his condition was so bad that he was unable to breathe on his own.
Dr. Dhawal Narang, a renowned neurologist at the hospital, examined him. The doctor decided to admit Anirudh to the paediatric ICU, a specialized area for children where he could receive the necessary care. He was put on a ventilator to help him breathe. Dr. Satakshi and her team at the paediatric department conducted several tests and found that Anirudh was suffering from a condition called Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS).
Fortunately, with proper treatment, his condition began to improve. Dr. Dhawal Narang and Dr. Shatakshi Awasthi started intravenous immunoglobulin therapy (IVIG) to improve his health. Anirudh's condition improved in 5 to 7 days. The doctors gradually reduced the ventilator support and eventually moved him off the machine to a normal hospital room. Within a week, Anirudh was able to walk independently and breathe easily again.
Anirudh's father Ashwin expressed his gratitude to Tender Palm Hospital, Dr. Dhawal Narang, Dr. Shatakshi Awasthi and their dedicated team. He appreciated the hospital's commitment to care and their support during this challenging time.
