The most common conditions include fractures, dislocations, carpal tunnel syndrome, and tendonitis, arthritis, and ganglion cysts. These can cause pain and stiffness, as well as reduced mobility. The earlier a patient comes in for treatment, the higher his chances of achieving optimal results.

Tender Palm Hospital is dedicated to comprehensive hand and wrist care. Our advanced practice orthopedic surgeons and specialists will collaborate to provide various treatments best suited to your condition.

The following are some of the treatments:

  1. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome – A condition where the median nerve in the wrist gets compressed, causing numbness, tingling, and weakness in the hand. It often results from repetitive hand movements or wrist strain.
  2. Compartment Syndrome – A serious condition where swelling increases pressure in the hand or wrist muscles, cutting off blood flow. It causes severe pain and can lead to permanent damage if not treated quickly.
  3. Congenital Deformities – Birth defects affecting the hand or wrist, such as extra fingers, fused fingers, or underdeveloped bones. These can affect movement and may require surgery for correction.
  4. De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis – Swelling of the tendons on the thumb side of the wrist, causing pain and difficulty moving the thumb. It is often caused by repetitive thumb movements or overuse.
  5. Dupuytren’s Contracture – A condition where the tissue under the skin of the palm thickens, causing fingers (usually the ring and little fingers) to bend inward. It slowly worsens over time and may require treatment to restore movement.
  6. Hand & Wrist Fracture – A break in any of the bones in the hand or wrist due to a fall, accident, or impact. Symptoms include pain, swelling, and difficulty using the hand.
  7. Kienbock’s Disease – A condition where the small bones in the wrist lose blood supply and slowly break down, causing pain, stiffness, and reduced wrist movement. It usually affects young adults.
  8. Mallet Finger – An injury where the tip of a finger cannot straighten due to a damaged tendon. It usually happens from a sudden impact, like a ball hitting the fingertip.
  9. Post-Traumatic Deformities – Changes in the shape or function of the hand or wrist due to past injuries that healed incorrectly. This can cause pain, stiffness, or difficulty in movement.
  10. Spastic Conditions – Conditions where muscles in the hand or wrist become stiff and uncontrollable, often due to nerve damage from stroke, cerebral palsy, or other neurological disorders.
  11. Stenosing Tenosynovitis (Trigger Finger) – A condition where a finger gets stuck in a bent position due to inflamed tendons. It may cause pain and clicking sounds when trying to move the finger.
  12. Tumors& Ganglion Cysts – Lumps or fluid-filled sacs that develop on the wrist or hand, often painless but sometimes causing discomfort. Ganglion cysts are common and usually harmless, while tumors may need medical evaluation.
  13. Ulnar Tunnel Syndrome –A condition where the ulnar nerve is compressed in the wrist, leading to numbness and weakness in the ring and little fingers. It can be caused by repetitive strain, injury, or cysts pressing on the nerve.
