Patient Mr. Bhupendra Pratap Verma, a 38-year-old man who faced a difficult battle with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and found a new lease on life through a successful kidney transplant.
Mr. Bhupendra Pratap Verma was diagnosed with CKD in 2022, and over time, his condition worsened. By 2024, he had reached CKD Stage 5, requiring regular dialysis twice a week from August 2024. Dialysis helped Mr. Bhupendra Pratap Verma to keep him stable, but a kidney transplant was the only permanent solution. His mother, Mrs. Shakuntala Verma (60 years old), decided to donate one of her kidneys to save his life. Luckily, their blood groups matched (B+ to AB+). After thorough medical checks, doctors confirmed that she was healthy enough for the donation.
Under the expert care of Dr. Arun Kumar, Director & HOD, Department of Nephrology and Kidney Transplant Medicine at Tender Palm, the transplant was successfully performed on November 23, 2024. After six days of post-operative care, Mr. Verma responded well to the surgery and was discharged on November 29, 2024.
Today, he is on the path to recovery, embracing a healthier and dialysis-free life.
Mr. Bhupendra Pratap Verma’s journey reminds us that a better future is always possible with timely treatment, family support, and expert medical intervention.
