Tender Palms Hospital provides advanced care for children with heart disease. Our interventional pediatric cardiologists use minimally invasive surgery to treat a variety of heart problems. Our specialists are experienced in diagnosing and treating congenital heart disease. We perform catheterization procedures using the latest technology. We provide kids with a welcoming and secure atmosphere. Catheterization involves inserting thin tubes into blood vessels to examine the heart. This helps diagnose heart problems and allows treatment without open-chest surgery.

Treatments we offer-

The cardiology team at Tender Palms Hospital offers a wide range of treatments for a variety of heart conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Atrial septal defect
  • Aortic stenosis
  • Patent ductus arteriosus
  • Ductal stenosis or leak
  • Pulmonary artery stenosis
  • Leak or one surgical opening
  • Pulmonary valve stenosis
  • Systemic and pulmonary vein stenosis or blockage
  • Ventricular septal defect

The following procedures may be performed-

  • ASD device closure: An ASD is a hole between the upper chambers of the heart. Our cardiologists can use a device to close the hole.
  • Balloon atrial septostomy: In newborns, creating an opening between the heart's upper chambers can be lifesaving in certain situations, especially in cases of transposition of the great arteries.
  • Balloon Aortic Valvuloplasty: A doctor inflates a small balloon in the narrowed aortic valve to improve blood flow from the heart.
  • Balloon Pulmonary Valvuloplasty: This is a procedure to widen a tight pulmonary valve using a balloon. It makes it easier for blood to flow from the heart to the lungs.
  • Coarctoplasty: A balloon is used to open a narrowed section of the aorta, the main artery. This helps improve blood flow and reduce high blood pressure caused by the narrowing.
  • Coil Embolization: Tiny metal coils are placed inside abnormal blood vessels to block them. This is done to stop bleeding or reduce the flow in unwanted vessels.
  • Device Closure of Vascular Aneurysm: A special device is placed in a weak, bulging blood vessel (aneurysm) to seal it off. This prevents it from bursting and causing serious problems.
  • Fistula : A fistula is an abnormal connection between two body parts, like organs or blood vessels. It can happen naturally or be created medically for treatments like dialysis.
  • Radio Frequency Ablation for Arrhythmia (RFA): This treatment uses heat from radio waves to destroy small parts of heart tissue causing irregular heartbeats. It helps restore a normal heart rhythm safely and effectively.
  • PDA device closure: The PDA is a blood vessel between the aorta and the pulmonary artery. This vessel usually closes after birth. If the epidural does not close, your doctor may place a device or coil to close the epidural during catheterization.
  • Stenting for Coarctation of Aorta: Stents are small metal cylinders that open narrowed blood vessels. These stents can be used to open arteries or veins that are constricted.
  • VSD device closure: In some patients, catheter therapy is used to fix the VSD, which is a hole between the lower chambers of the heart.
